About the project
Nepa is searching for a master's student to design, implement, and evaluate an AI-driven system that automates the analysis of creative content (videos and images) used in digital marketing campaigns. The system should be capable of identifying key creative elements that influence campaign performance, integrating computer vision, natural language processing, audio analysis, and speech-to-text models to extract and interpret multimodal data from marketing assets.
Digital marketing is increasingly data-driven, yet the creative aspects of campaigns, such as visuals, tone, storytelling, and emotional resonance, remain difficult to quantify. Marketing teams need scalable, objective, and actionable analysis tools that help them understand what truly drives campaign effectiveness, but current solutions require significant manual analysis and subjective interpretation to derive insights from creative assets.
Project Scope
The AI system will need capabilities such as:
- Analysing multimodal creative assets (image, video, text, and audio)
- Extracting and categorizing key creative elements and features
- Identifying correlations between creative features and campaign effectiveness metrics
- Visualizing insights for business users in an accessible format
Technical Focus Areas:
- AI system design and architecture
- Computer vision and image/video analysis
- Natural language processing and audio analysis
- Feature extraction and correlation analysis with campaign performance data
Expected Deliverables:
- Designed and implemented AI system prototype
- Evaluation of the system's performance on real-world marketing data
- Academic thesis documenting methodology, implementation, and findings
- Recommendations for future development and deployment
By automating the analysis of creative content, the aim of this project is to empower marketers and creative teams to make faster, more informed, and data-driven decisions, ultimately leading to more effective and engaging digital campaigns.
Who we're looking for:
Educational Background:
We're looking for a master's student in their final year with background in engineering, data science, AI, mathematics, statistics, or related technical fields. You should have foundational knowledge in mathematical/statistical methods, programming, data analytics, and/or machine learning techniques.
Skills & Interests:
- Interest in applied AI and marketing analytics
- Solid programming skills (Python preferred)
- Familiarity with machine learning, computer vision, and/or natural language processing
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with digital marketing, media analysis, or creative analytics is a plus

Supervision and Support:
The Data Science team at Nepa:
As master thesis student at Nepa you will be mentored by and get support from experienced professionals from our brilliant data science team. The team focuses on research, development, implementation and delivery of advanced algorithms and models, aimed to deliver real value to our clients. You will also have access to our broader team of marketing analytics experts.
Work Environment:
- Preferably on-site at our Stockholm office for optimal collaboration and support, other working arrangements can be discussed
- Access to necessary data, tools, and computational resources
- Regular check-ins and support from your supervisors
Practical Information:
Project Period: Spring semester 2026 e.g. February to June 2026
Location: Nepa Stockholm Office
On-site work preferred, with flexibility for hybrid arrangements
